Mnuchin Attends Ceremony Formalizing Israel and Bahrain Relations

Israeli delegation to Manama takes the next step in strengthening ties.

A ceremony to formalize relations between Bahrain and Israel was held on Sunday in Manama, Bahrain. This is the next diplomatic step for Israel and Bahrain after the Abraham Accords were signed at the White House in September.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin accompanied the Israeli delegation on El Al Israel Airlines to the signing of two treaty agreements: the Joint Communique on the Establishment of Diplomatic, Peaceful and Friendly Relations, and Memorandums of Understanding.

The U.S. has promoted these agreements to strengthen both security of the Middle East and the nations’ economies. Secretary Mnuchin said, “I think the opportunity is way beyond just investments… It’s in technology, building various different businesses – and in the case of Bahrain as well, really expanding the opportunities for them quite, quite, quite dramatically.”

Foreign Minister Abdullatif Al-Zayani of Bahrain said, “It was indeed an historic visit, to start opening relations between both countries.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That more Arab nations would agree to peaceful relations with Israel.
  • For God’s will to be accomplished in the agreements between these countries.
  • For President Trump’s administration as it works to strengthen both foreign and domestic economy.
