Senate Bill to Counter China’s Influence

U.S. Innovation and Competition Act gets support from U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s Endless Frontiers Act, a bill designed to compete with China in technology, has become the United States Innovation and Competition Act of 2021. Spurred on by the microchip shortage, the legislation has brought both parties together to promote American research and technological advancements and manufacturing under the guidance of the U.S. Department of Commerce.

In a letter to the Senate, Executive Vice President Neil Bradley of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce wrote, “For the United States to remain competitive internationally and tackle the challenges of future pandemics and jumpstart economic growth, the U.S. must maintain its leadership in technology.  The United States Innovation and Competition Act represents a step toward achieving this goal by supporting research and development in key areas like autonomy, advanced communications, and artificial intelligence.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For members of the Senate as legislation is negotiated.
  • For the Department of Commerce as they seek to support American manufacturing.
  • For the president and his administration as efforts are made to compete with China.
