U.S. Strikes Militant Base in Iraq with AC-130 Gunship

Response to targeted attacks against U.S. bases in the Middle East

The U.S. Central Command said that American troops struck a militant base in Iraq with an AC-130 gunship this week, responding to the dozens of targeted attacks against American military bases in the Middle East. Central Command said the strike resulted in several casualties but was primarily targeting storage facilities on the militant bases.

“We are hitting weapons storage facilities and completely destroying them so they are no longer of use,” Pentagon deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh stated. “We feel very confident… in the targets that we have selected.”

Since the attacks of Hamas against Israel on October 7, U.S. military bases in the Middle East have been attacked 66 times by local militant groups, 32 in Iraq and 34 in Syria.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the commander of the U.S. Central Command as they respond to attacks against U.S. forces.
  • For Pentagon officials to seek God’s guidance as they advise the president.
  • For the safety of U.S. troops in the Middle East.
