Senate Committee Hearing Scheduled for Fed Board Nominee

The committee will review the president’s proposed vice chair, Philip Jefferson.

The Senate Banking Committee Chairman Sherrod Brown of Ohio announced a hearing for President Joe Biden’s nominee for Vice Chair of the Federal Reserve Board on June 21.

President Biden has nominated the current Fed Governor Philip Jefferson to the position, a doctor of economics who previously served as an economist for the Federal Reserve System. Previous Vice Chair Lael Brainerd resigned earlier this year to lead the White House National Economic Council.

The committee will also review the nomination of Adriana Kugler as the person to fill Jefferson’s current seat on the Fed Board, as well as the renomination of current Fed Governor Lisa Cook.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For members of the Senate Banking Committee as they hear the qualifications of the president’s nominees to the Federal Reserve.
  • For Senator Brown as he chairs the committee and guides the hearings.
  • For the appointees who are confirmed to be led by God in their roles and responsibilities.
