President Trump Outlines Diesel Deal with Russia, Progress Toward Peace

The agreement is intended to further peace negotiations in the Ukraine war and prevent Russia from supporting Iran.

President Donald Trump provided further details on Sunday on the diesel agreement he announced with Russia, outlining the impact it could have on peace in Ukraine and potentially with Iran. He signed an executive order on Friday exempting Russia from certain sanctions under the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026.

“My decision on Russia is a very simple one,” President Trump stated. “I am in the process of negotiating Peace in the war between Russia and Ukraine, and don’t want to do anything that will drive, foolishly, Russia away from the bargaining table. Great progress is being made, and that includes current hostage negotiations!”

“Perhaps more importantly, Russia is doing very little, if anything, to help the Islamic Republic of Iran, compared to what they could be doing, and I want to keep it that way,” the president continued.

President Trump criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for targeting diesel refineries in Russia, “knowing that these attacks are seriously hurting the world diesel markets, including those in the United States. Farmers, ranchers, and businesses of all kinds are suffering greatly from this.”

President Trump added his belief that the Ukrainian president “doesn’t want to end this war, and probably never did.” Highlighting all that Ukraine has lost, he emphatically concluded, “I WANT THIS WAR END!”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump to be led by the Lord as he seeks to end the Ukraine war and the conflict with Iran.
  • For U.S. officials to be discerning regarding the global diesel market and the president’s goal to further peace between Russia and Ukraine.
