Issue 590 – Federal Branches

Praying for Our Leaders in Government

Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration

Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra said he might not follow last week’s judicial order to stop the distribution of an abortion drug. “We want the courts to overturn this reckless decision,” he said. “We intend to do everything to make sure it’s available to them not just in a week but moving forward…to help women with their health care, especially abortion care.”

Pray that members of the president’s administration follow proper protocol and judicial rulings.

Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress

The House Oversight Committee is seeking information from Education Secretary Miguel Cardona in connection with an investigation into the reporting by colleges and universities of receiving foreign gifts and contractual funding after it was reported that nearly $6.5 billion had gone unreported as required under the Higher Education Act.

Pray for the chairs and members of Congressional committees as they review and investigate federal actions.

Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges

The Supreme Court declined to lift an appeals court injunction that enabled a transgender athlete in West Virginia to compete on a school’s female sports team, in essence allowing that activity. The matter remains before the appeals court and could ultimately arrive in full to the nation’s highest court.

Pray for justices of the Supreme Court to be prudent in their decisions as they navigate the changing tides of society and culture.
