Interior Launches Tribal Advisory Committee

Representatives will be appointed from 12 regions.

During her remarks at the National Congress of American Indians 2022 Mid-Year Conference last week, Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland announced the establishment of the Secretary’s Tribal Advisory Committee. The committee has appointed representatives and secondary representatives from each of the 12 regions designated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and will be integral for providing key insights into decisions made with Native Nations in mind.

“Tribes deserve a seat at the decision-making table before policies are made that impact their communities,” said Secretary Haaland. “I look forward to continued engagement and ensuring that the Department honors and strengthens our nation-to-nation relationships with Tribes.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For officials of the Interior as they appoint representatives to the committee.
  • For Secretary Haaland to seek God’s direction as information and recommendations are sought from tribal representatives.
  • That the president’s administration would be wise in dealing with tribal matters.
