Budget Results Released for Fiscal Year 2021

Treasury secretary and acting OMB director issue joint statement.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and White House Office of Management and Budget Acting Director Shalanda Young released a joint statement on Friday addressing the budget results of Fiscal Year 2021. The report reflected a deficit that was $360 billion less than the year before, due in part to the economic recovery after the pandemic shutdown as well as the vaccination efforts.

“Today’s joint budget statement is further evidence that America’s economy is in the midst of a recovery,” Treasury Secretary Yellen said. “While the nation’s economic recovery is stronger than those of other wealthy nations, it is still fragile.” The treasury secretary also urged Congress to pass the president’s spending plans in order to ”strengthen our nation’s long-term fiscal outlook.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Congress as they consider.
  • For the president’s administration as they.
  • For God to fulfill His purpose.
