Beacon of Hope

You can shine.

Proverbs 4:18 – The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day.

Bob Chancey, the pastor of Manchester Christian Church, writes in his book, Pray for One…

“The enemy’s number one tactic is to get the Church to focus on anything other than the mission of Jesus. If he can get us to fight on a false front, then he wins the battle no matter how valiantly or powerfully we struggle. Fighting the wrong fight is actually worse than not fighting at all.”

In these days of COVID-19, lockdowns, election challenges, not to mention the everyday things that distract you, have you let your focus on Jesus slip—even a little? In Matthew 5:16, the Master said, “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

Just as the moon’s light is a reflection of the sun, so your light should be evidence of your relationship with the Son of God. In a dark and worried world, your light could be a beacon of hope that someone needs today. So shine!

Pray With Us

  • Pray for newly elected state and local officials as they prepare for their time of service to the country.
  • Thank God for giving you a purpose … to reflect the light of His Son, Jesus.
  • Pray for a tender and compassionate heart that would reveal itself in your loving words and actions.
  • Pray for people who are hurting or in emotional distress over election results and who are in need of the Savior and don’t even realize it.
  • Pray that, if it is His will for you today, God would lead you to someone with whom you could share His love.
