Pray the Vote

Elections: November 3, 2020

Praying for the Elections

Pray with us in the lead-up to the elections. As we prepare to vote in the coming elections, we will remain faithful to His calling and continue to pray for our existing and new leaders. Today, we pray:

Heavenly Father, thank you for your continued grace and mercy and for blessing the United States of America. As many across the country head to the polls, we ask for Your wisdom and guidance as the nation votes. We pray that Your will is accomplished through our actions and for the results of the election to be according to Your plan.

Dear Members and fellow praying Americans,

A journalist from Chicago once noted that "There are always too many Democratic congressmen, too many Republican congressmen, and never enough U.S. congressmen." When I read that, it reminded me that God does not have a political party. He only has His people – us. With our country so deeply divided, and with the gap seemingly growing ever wider, we not only need U.S. congressmen, but we need godly congressmen...
This is precisely why we pray.

We pray for our present and future leaders to seek God's will for all of their decisions. In the midst of a midterm election year we prepare to elect our next leaders, both nationally and statewide. God gives us the privilege to pray and participate in His will. Prayer is so much more than just petitioning God. Through prayer, we grow our relationship with Him and seek His will for us. Therefore, only through prayer can we be fully prepared in the election process.

During this election year and as you vote, we urge you to pray that you and others may vote according this His leading. The system of government and freedom of faith in this nation enable us to shape the direction that we are headed. God allows us the opportunity of being a part of accomplishing His will and one such way is by voting and steering our country for the better.

Each of us has our own perspective on the issues, but we must remain united on the truth. The Presidential Prayer Team stands only on the clear truths from God’s infallible and Holy Bible, which is the very foundation of all truth. It is our guide in how and why we pray for our leaders, our country and ourselves. Because of this, we remain non-partisan and do not participate in political debate.

This is why I write to you and the millions of praying Americans. Start praying for the election, today. You have the honor to carry out God's will for America and make a difference when you vote. Join us as we PRAY THE VOTE.

Yours in Christ,
Jim Bolthouse
President of The Presidential Prayer Team national prayer ministry for America and its leaders
