President Names Head of FIFA World Cup Task Force

The U.S. will serve as the primary host for the global event.

President Donald Trump appointed Andrew Giuliani, son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, as the leader of the federal task force overseeing preparations for the 2026 World Cup. The United States will serve as the primary host of this global event, with Canada and Mexico co-hosting several matches in the tournament.

The White House stated, “In collaboration with executive departments & agencies, the Task Force will facilitate comprehensive planning, organization, and execution of the largest sporting events in the history of mankind.“

The president commended Andrew Giuliani as a “highly competitive golfer… and he’s also a highly competitive person, and he loves what we’re doing.”

“It’s a big post. You better do well, Andrew,” President Trump said light-heartedly to Giuliani during Tuesday’s task force meeting. Carlos Cordeiro, who serves as a senior adviser to FIFA, will also advise the task force.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump as he seeks to improve the nation’s economy and names individuals to head federal agencies and task forces.
  • For Mr. Giuliani and members of the FIFA World Cup Task Force to be discerning in their planning and coordination.
