FAA Awards Grants to Upgrade U.S. Airport Infrastructure

$1.776 billion has been granted to forty-six U.S. states to assist with airport upgrades for safety, runway rehabilitations, and family-friendly enhancements.

The U.S. Department of Transportation announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recently awarded multiple grants to support airport infrastructure upgrades. In honor of the U.S. 250th anniversary, a total of $1.776 billion will assist airports with runway rehabilitations, family-friendly enhancements, and safety upgrades in forty-six states.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy stated, “What a better way to celebrate America than investing in its future. We’re ushering in the Golden Age of Transportation and rebuilding our airport infrastructure is critical to making that vision a reality. Under President Trump’s leadership, we are building an aviation system worthy of our country’s incredible history.”

FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford stated, “The FAA is prioritizing improving our nation’s airports and ensuring we issue grants quickly and efficiently. This funding does more than just rebuild runways and taxiways, it modernizes the travel experience for American families, ensuring our airports are safe and ready for the future.”

Airports receiving funding include Denver International Airport, Boise Air Terminal/Gowen Field, Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, Houston Hobby Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport, Orlando International Airport, and Oakland International Airport.
