For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. – Ephesians 2:8-9
A recent poll released by the Pew Research Center found that 68 percent of Americans say belief in God is not required “in order to be moral and have good values.” The majority of those respondents do not consider religion important in their lives. However, the Reverend Canon J. John of Great Britain said people who dismiss a need for God are deceiving themselves. “Certainly, a person can be moral and have good character who does not have God in his life; but if he thinks those traits and the good things he does will give him eternal benefit, he is deceived. Moreover, he bears a spirit of disobedience, mocking God by ignoring the still, small voice within him that he is wrong.” Pray this week for hearts and minds in this nation to be awakened and drawn to the saving grace of the Lord Almighty.
Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is preparing to take legal action against migrants and their attorneys for submitting fraudulent asylum claims. DHS General Counsel James Percival stated, “Protection claims like asylum are intended to cover unique and narrow circumstances, but it is standard practice for immigration attorneys representing illegal aliens to assert that virtually every illegal alien is going to be persecuted or tortured in his or her home country.” Immigration and Customs Enforcement is developing further policies under federal law to deter fraudulent documentation and enhance penalties for such violations.
Pray for Secretary Mullin, Counsel Percival, and DHS and ICE officials as they seek to ensure claims for asylum are legitimate.
Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress
Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa, chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, released responses this month from Meta, TikTok, Amazon, Snapchat, xAI, Roblox, Grindr, and Discord regarding their plans to improve reporting of online child sexual exploitation. Senator Grassley said that tech companies must be held accountable, stating, “Keeping kids safe online and protecting parents’ peace of mind are top priorities.” He added that he would “be closely watching to ensure the proper safeguards and reporting requirements are in place to prevent abuse, safeguard children, and prosecute suspected predators.”
Pray for senators and representatives as they address the online targeting of children.
PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES
Members of the House Judiciary Committee questioned Interim CEO Bryan Fair of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) this week as the organization faces a Justice Department indictment for fraud. Representative Tom McClintock of California stated, “Explain to me the reasoning behind targeting groups like Turning Point USA, the Family Research Council, traditional Catholic groups as hate groups, but not groups like Antifa, Jane’s Revenge, Youth Liberation Front.” In response, CEO Fair claimed, “We list groups that demonize or vilify people based on immutable characteristics or that express anti-government conspiracy theories.” He used Former FBI Director Christopher Wray’s term for Antifa as an “ideology” to deflect from his organization’s failure to list them as a violent “group.”
Pray for chairs and members of Senate and House committees and subcommittees as they investigate national organizations accused of fraud.
Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges
The Supreme Court unanimously decided that generic drug manufacturers cannot be held responsible for the prescription of generic compounds for patented uses of branded pharmaceuticals. Doctors and pharmacists have regularly offered generic drugs for both patented and non-patented use, often mandated by state laws. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson wrote in the decision that the generic drug manufacturer “was just complying with the law or with standard industry practice.”
Pray for the justices of the Supreme Court as they finalize outstanding opinions of the current term.
As we lift up the federal government of United States of America, each day we will highlight one elected or appointed federal official serving in office. Pray with us for each of them as they tackle their unique responsibilities and fulfill their oaths of office.

“The Spirit takes from the Scripture the grand evidence of faith which he has lodged there, and carries it to the hearts of the elect, and then the light and power of divine truth so apprehends and overcomes the soul, that it can no longer resist. That triumphant evidence is no other than the glory and excellency of the gospel scheme of salvation manifested by the Holy Spirit in such a manner as produces full conviction that a scheme so glorious could have none but God for its author. Saving faith may therefore be defined as a persuasion that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God, flowing from spiritual views of such a glory in the gospel as satisfies and convinces the mind that a scheme so glorious could have none but God for its author.“

Pray for America’s Military
The Pentagon’s Defense Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) is building a framework to protect critical infrastructure in the homeland. Defense Critical Infrastructure Director Colonel Adolph Rodriguez said the effort will clarify authorities and lines of command and control between federal, state, and local partners in response to cyberattacks on critical infrastructure, similar to existing civil, federal, and defense roles in addressing natural disasters or terrorist attacks.
Pray for Secretary Hegseth and Colonel Rodriguez as the U.S. military seeks to ensure a strong defensive posture against cyberattacks on critical infrastructure.
Pray for America’s Foreign Relations
The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) has destroyed an estimated 280 miles-worth of Hamas’ tunnels in Gaza. As progress toward the disarmament of Hamas and the establishment of an international stabilization force has stalled, six IDF brigades and 18 battalions have been deployed to protect communities along Israel’s southern border. The Israeli military has also reportedly eliminated the majority of senior Hamas commanders and military strategists.
A wooden-lined tunnel was recently discovered in Tijuana, Mexico, that appears to lead from the border city into the United States. Mexico’s attorney general reported that the nearly 870-foot tunnel was found during a raid conducted by Mexican federal officials, with assistance from the Mexican navy. Mexican law enforcement retrieved material as part of the raid that led them to believe the tunnel was used to store and smuggle narcotics, weapons, and explosive materials.
Pray for U.S. diplomats and national security officials as they engage in efforts to strengthen alliances and counter threats.
Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
The Food and Drug Administration is conducting a review of the abortion drug, mifepristone. A Department of Health and Human Services spokesperson stated that the agency “has been actively working on a science-based safety review of the mifepristone [Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies] for months.” The official stated that reporting suggesting “that a study is just being started is either false or based on a fundamental misunderstanding of how complex scientific safety studies work.”
Pray for HHS and FDA officials as they conduct safety reviews of widely-prescribed medications, particularly those with reported significant adverse health events.
Pray for Needs Across the States
The Ohio Senate has passed a measure that would give voters the option of turning the 2023 photo identification voting law into a state constitutional amendment. The resolution to place the measure on November’s ballot now goes to the state House for consideration. Ten states have passed laws requiring photo ID to vote in elections. Wisconsin voters passed a similar measure last year to amend their state constitution to include such a mandate.
Indiana Governor Mike Braun participated in a ceremonial signing of the Fairness Act this month, which seeks to deter employers from hiring immigrants who are residing in the U.S. illegally. State Attorney General Todd Rokita said, “We do expect whatever operation you run to have it run fairly, and that means you hire Hoosiers and you at least hire U.S. citizens, and you do not try to exploit cheap labor from people who shouldn’t be here in the first place.” Beginning July 1, Indiana businesses found to knowingly employ illegal aliens will face fines, may have their licenses revoked, and could be permanently shut down.
Pray for state governors, attorneys general, and legislators as they address employment concerns and endeavor to improve election integrity.
Pray for America’s Faith Community
“Whenever the spirit leads, pray. Because beloved, I want to tell you, whenever I do not spend time praying in the spirit, when I do not spend specific time each day in intimacy with God and His Word, whenever I allow other things, including ministry by the way, to crowd my time with the Lord out, I find myself not only spiritually dry but missing out on the blessings of that protective shield that comes from my time with the Lord.
Think about it this way: when the prodigal left his father’s house, did this change the father’s love for him? No, the father’s love did not change. The son is the one who was the loser. The son was the one who suffered. The son is the one who missed out on the blessings of being home with the father. The son is the one who forfeited the joy of reveling in the father’s love. …
You cannot build yourself up in your most holy faith without spending time reading, believing, and obeying His most holy Word. If you just rely on Sunday sermons, or some Bible study in the middle of the week, or just reading Christian authors, wonderful as all these things are, and you know I do all of that, but that is insufficient for yourself to build yourself up in your most holy faith. You have to spend time in the Word.“
