The tanker, already under U.S. sanctions, sought to conceal its identity and location.
The Department of Justice unsealed a warrant issued by a District of Columbia U.S. District Court magistrate judge on November 26, which authorized the seizure of the Venezuelan oil tanker last week.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro said, “As the premier United States Attorney’s office leading efforts to intercept ghost vessels as well as sanctioned products, we remain committed to legally supporting President Trump’s efforts to make the world a safer place.”
The vessel, which is associated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was sanctioned by the United States and attempted to disguise its location, and was flying a Guyana flag at the time it was seized.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For U.S. Attorney Pirro to receive God’s direction as she fulfills her role in the Justice Department.
- For President Trump to seek the Lord as he makes decisions and takes action against foreign terrorist organizations.
- For Attorney General Bondi to be discerning as she oversees cases brought by the DOJ.
