Switzerland, South Korea, El Salvador, Argentina, Ecuador, and Guatemala each make agreements with the U.S.
The United States announced several trade deals this week, with Switzerland, South Korea, El Salvador, Argentina, Ecuador, and Guatemala.
The trade agreement with Switzerland will reduce tariffs from 39 percent to 15 percent.
U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said the Swiss are “going to send a lot of manufacturing here to the United States — pharmaceuticals, gold smelting, railway equipment — so we’re really excited about that deal and what it means for American manufacturing.”
The U.S. agreement with South Korea includes a pledge to invest in the United States and confirms the approval of South Korea’s development of nuclear-powered submarines.
The White House stated that the agreements with Latin American countries “secure commitments on economic and national security issues to strengthen supply chains and trade partnerships in the region, deepening bilateral trade and investment cooperation to provide American exporters with unprecedented access to markets in Central and South America.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump to be led by the Lord as he continues to negotiate trade deals.
- For Trade Representative Greer to be discerning as he engages with foreign ministers over trade.
- For the justices of the Supreme Court as they consider the constitutionality of President Trump’s tariff actions under the emergency economic declaration.
