Pakistan confirms the signing of the finalized agreement for this Friday.
President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that a peace deal with Iran had been finalized.
“The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all!“ President Trump stated. “I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade. Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!“
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council confirmed the finalization of a memoradum of understanding with the U.S. and that fighting would “immediately and permanently“ cease Sunday night.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif stated that, after intensive talks, “Both sides have declared the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon.“ He added that an “official signing ceremony will be on Friday, 19 June in Switzerland.”
Despite the peace agreement including the ceasefire in Lebanon, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz stated that military security areas in the region would remain.
