Issue 752 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Alexus Grynkewich stated that the U.S. would continue to withdraw troops as NATO allies increase their defenses. “As the European pillar of the alliance gets stronger, this allows the U.S. to reduce its presence in Europe and limit itself to providing only those critical capabilities that allies cannot yet provide,” General Grynkewich said. “So we should expect there to be a redeployment of U.S. forces over time as allies build their capacity.”

Pray for U.S. military officials as they redistribute American forces around the globe. Pray for the protection of U.S. troops serving around the world.

Pray for America’s Foreign Relations

The United Kingdom’s Deputy Ambassador to the United States, James Roscoe, has been removed from his post. Questions have been raised regarding his role in the leak of top-secret information from a National Security Council meeting.

Russia recently held two days of land, air, and sea military exercises with Belarus, which included 64,000 troops. Moscow stated that it was necessary to practice the deployment of nuclear forces in case of an “aggression threat.”

Pray for U.S. and allied officials as they assess and strategize diplomacy and agreements with foreign governments.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that its offices in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are responding to the Ebola outbreak. An American missionary was evacuated to Germany for treatment, and six other U.S. citizens are being transferred out of the DRC to quarantine for possible exposure to the virus. Ebola Response Incident Manager, Dr. Satish Pillai, stated that the CDC is “providing in-country support for surveillance, contact tracing, laboratory testing, infection prevention and control, border health activities, and community engagement.” U.S. health officials maintain that the risks to the United States are low.

Pray for Dr. Pillai and CDC officials as they review and oversee the response to the Ebola outbreak in the DRC.

Pray for Needs Across the States

Arizona and nine other states have taken legal action against Kalshi, the prediction market company. Arizona filed a criminal case against the New York-based platform, contending that it is subject to state laws that prohibit the unlicensed operation of wagering or betting on elections. Kalshi has claimed it is a financial marketplace, facilitating the buying and selling of online “event contracts” connected to real-world events. The company maintains it is subject only to the federal jurisdiction of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

The Department of Justice filed suit against Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont, Attorney General William Tong, Chief State’s Attorney Patrick Griffin, and Deputy Chief State’s Attorney Eliot Prescott for attempting to regulate federal law enforcement under the state’s Senate Bill 397, “Act Concerning Democracy and Government Accountability.” New York, New Jersey, and California have also faced lawsuits from the federal government for violating the supremacy clause of the U.S. Constitution.

Pray for state governors, secretaries of state, and attorneys general as they make decisions concerning their jurisdictions and regulations.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“Parents are to bring their children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. But how can children be expected to know their boundaries if their parents are clueless? How can they be expected to know what they’re supposed to do or what they’re not supposed to do if their parents are neglectful of their responsibilities, clear responsibilities as delineated in the Bible?
Whatever decision Christian parents make about the ongoing education of their children… one thing is true of every mom and dad in the congregation. That is that they are responsible for the instruction of their children in the word of God. It is their responsibility. …
How happy the son who can say, ‘When I was a boy in my father’s house, still tender and an only child of my mother, he taught me and said, “Lay hold of my words with all your heart. Keep my commands and you will live.”‘ So the responsibility of the parents is essentially twofold. It is first of all to conduct the instruction of their children and then the disciplining of their children. Here’s where it gets challenging, isn’t it? Disciplining our children according to the Bible is not an option, and doing it, and doing it in the way that God says, is absolutely essential.“ – Alistair Begg, Truth for Life, “The Christian Family”
