Issue 752 – Federal Branches

Praying for Our Leaders in Government

Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has established a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program integrity data team. Since Secretary Brooke Rollins requested SNAP eligibility data in May 2025, twenty-nine states have submitted the information to the federal agency. The USDA team has estimated at least $3 billion per year of potential fraud, waste, and abuse, based on this data.

Pray for the president and members of his Cabinet as they seek to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse of government programs.

Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress

Both the House and the Senate recently voted down resolutions to end Operation Epic Fury in Iran under the 1973 War Powers Act. The minority party has repeatedly introduced measures that would direct the president to remove the U.S. military from the conflict with Iran unless Congress authorizes the operation to continue. President Trump had sent Congress a letter stating that hostilities with Iran ended as of May 1. Another war powers effort has begun in the Senate, with Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana shifting his position and advancing the resolution.

Pray for senators and representatives as they evaluate military action in the Middle East.

PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES

The Senate Judiciary Committee, chaired by Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa, sent letters to leaders of major social media companies requesting that they attend the “Examining Tech Industry Practices and the Implications for Users and Families” hearing next month. Committee member Senator Marsha Blackburn, who sponsored the Kids Online Safety Act, stated that federal regulations could target companies’ design features after recent legal verdicts in New Mexico and California found Meta and Google liable for harms to minors using their platforms.

Pray for members of the House and Senate as they conduct hearings to increase protections for children and teens using social media.

Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges

The Central California U.S. District Court dismissed a lawsuit brought by environmental groups against the Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management under the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act. The court determined that changes to a prior authorization, such as the development plan’s revision, did not require a notice and comment period. Preliminary injunctions remain pending in the case.

Pray for federal justices and judges as they hear and rule on challenges to the president’s order and federal agency actions.
