Department of the Interior Orders Travel Reviews

The agency suspends spending and travel during updates to its approval process.

The U.S. Department of the Interior has issued a pause on all spending and travel, aligning with President Donald Trump’s agenda to cut government wasteful spending.

The Interior Department’s Chief of Staff, Wynn Radford, stated that the administration seeks to “ensure that all travel… pertains to the necessary functions of Government business.”

The directive stated that group travel requests planned within 45 days, or proposed international travel within the next 60 days, will be reviewed by the Interior secretary’s Senior Advisor Thomas Baptiste.

The department also directed employees to comply with the Office of Personnel Management’s email regarding what they have done in the past week.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Burgum as he heads the Department of the Interior.
  • For Senior Advisor Thomas Baptiste as he reviews all planned travel by Interior personnel.
