Praying for Our Leaders in Government
Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration
This week, President Biden delegated certain of his executive functions and authorities to U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai under Section 301 of Title 3 of the U.S. Constitution to carry out the United States-Taiwan Initiative on 21st-Century Trade First Agreement Implementation Act.
Pray for the president and members of his administration as presidential authorities and functions are delegated to officials in the Cabinet.
Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress
Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon, chair of the Senate Finance Committee, wrote to Harlan Crow’s attorney regarding more undisclosed luxury trips Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas took with his friend. Senator Wyden expressed concerns that the billionaire was attempting to lower his tax bill through the luxury vacations with Justice Thomas and their wives.
Pray for senators and representatives to be prudent as they seek to ensure Supreme Court ethics and tax compliance by wealthy Americans.
PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES
Members of the House Judiciary Committee released a national security report showing that, of over 250 individuals on the FBI’s terror watch list encountered at the southern border between 2021 and 2023, nearly 100 were granted entry into the U.S.
Pray for the chair and members of the committee as they investigate national security related to judicial actions.
Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges
A federal judge ruled that Google has acted as a monopoly in online search and text advertising. The Justice Department filed the case in 2020 alleging that Google has violated Section 2 of the Sherman Act, which prohibits monopolies. The court found that the exclusive search agreements Google has held with Apple and Android have supported its “anticompetitive behavior and dominance.“
Pray for wisdom for federal judges as they hear and decide cases of antitrust and monopolizing behavior and actions from American companies.
