Issue 641 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

The U.S. Air Force is offering bonuses to those who agree to a yearlong tour at one of seven military bases, located in Alaska, Montana, and North Dakota, where the temperatures reach -20 or lower. Airmen and guardians will receive the incentive pay regardless of rank or position.

Pray for the heads of U.S. military branches as they seek to keep bases fully staffed and operational.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

House Speaker Mike Johnson is considering the Rebuilding Economic Prosperity and Opportunity (REPO) for Ukrainians Act. The U.S. would liquidate seized Russian assets under the legislation and use the funding to assist Ukraine.

Pray for the House speaker and Senate leadership as they continue to assess options to support Ukraine.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

Plans for the U.S. to construct a floating dock to provide humanitarian assistance in Gaza continue after a strike by Israeli forces killed seven international aid workers. One American and three British nationals were among the casualties of what Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called an “unintended strike.”

Pray for discernment for U.S. and Israeli officials as Israel continues the war against Hamas.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cautioned against using over-the-counter pain relief products for topical application, particularly those containing 4 percent or more of lidocaine, before, during, or after cosmetic procedures like microdermabrasion or tattooing.

Pray for U.S. health officials as they address products, medications, and substances that have potentially harmful effects on consumers.

Pray for AMERICA’S ECONOMY

The Labor Department reported that February’s unemployment rate increased from 3.7 percent to 3.9 percent, reflecting the return of layoffs to pre-pandemic levels.

Pray for U.S. economic officials and advisors as they evaluate the impact of policies on the American household. Pray for U.S. citizens and residents as they seek to make ends meet.

Pray for Needs Across the States

The Vermont House passed a bill banning the use of pesticides that contain neonicotinoids. State legislators have taken the action to protect 300 native bee species and thousands of pollinator species that have reportedly been endangered by the neurotoxin.

The State Legislature of Colorado is considering a measure that would allow immigrants arriving in the state to receive a driver’s license immediately. The current regulation allows them to get a license after being residents of the state for two years.

Pray for state leaders to be discerning regarding the risks and benefits that result from the laws and bills they consider.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“It is the best news there is, isn’t it? “He was crucified, he died, he was buried, and he was raised from the dead.I am so grateful for those facts. They are facts of history. They are historical facts. And they are everything. They change everything. My life would have no real meaning, I would have no real hope if those facts were not true. I don’t know what it is that you’re looking for this morning. I don’t know what it is you’re living for this morning. It is, to me, one of the great tragedies of the world right now that so many seem to have nothing to live for and that they’re overwhelmed by that sense.“ – Senior Minister Keith Paulus, Christ Church New York City, March 2024
