Issue 636 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

The U.S. and South Korea recently held joint missile intercept drills as North Korea continues to test its surface-to-sea missiles.

Pray for U.S. military leaders as they assess the risks in various sectors of the globe.

Pray for AMERICA’S FOREIGN RELATIONS

Secretary of State Antony Blinken has declared that Israeli settlement expansion in the West Bank is “inconsistent with international law” after Israel’s government announced a plan to expand there.

Pray for U.S. diplomats and ambassadors as they engage in talks and negotiate agreements. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and wisdom for Israeli leaders.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

The Department of Health and Human Services has launched the Postpartum Maternal Health Collaborative to address maternal mortality in the U.S. Officials stated they seek “to develop a better understanding of the challenges being experienced among the postpartum population and support new solutions that will improve postpartum mortality.”

For HHS officials as they seek to address postpartum health and wellbeing.

Pray for AMERICA’S ECONOMY

The Commerce Department slightly downgraded 2023’s fourth-quarter Gross Domestic Product from its original estimates. The department reported that the last quarter was up 3.2 percent, rather than 3.3, and that the GDP overall for 2023 was 2.5 percent, up from 1.9 in 2022.

Pray for U.S. commerce officials to be prudent as they analyze and publish data regarding the nation’s economy.

Pray for Needs Across the States

The state legislature of Washington passed a bill requiring people to be at least 18 years of age before they can legally marry. Legislators state that the law is intended to improve the lives of adolescents and reduce domestic violence and unplanned pregnancy. Governor Inslee is expected to sign the bill.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and the state legislature recently overturned the state’s Right-to-Work law and expanded collective bargaining as well as wage protections in certain sectors.

Pray for state leaders as they consider the needs of and the issues that face their constituents.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“If I try to save my life I will lose it. But if I lose my life for Jesus and for the Gospel, I actually save it. In yielding our lives to God and surrendering those things that are dear to us, we discover true life and blessings. Our willingness to surrender to God acknowledges His lordship over our lives. Our willingness – not being forced, not being coerced… Jesus said ‘if you are ashamed of Me in this age, in this season, around your friends, in this culture… then I’m going to be ashamed of you before the Father, in the presence of the holy angels.‘ Now think about that. … If someone said ‘I don’t want to be around you, I don’t want anyone to know we’re related, that we’re friends, that we go to the same church, I don’t want to be associated with you,‘ wouldn’t it make sense that the other person’s response would be ‘that’s deep, that’s hurtful, that’s painful?‘“ – Pastor Greg Brewer, The Blessing of Surrender, Christ Church Nashville, February 2024
