The three reservists from Georgia were killed in a drone strike in Jordan.
President Joe Biden went to Dover Air Force Base Friday to attend the dignified transfer of the three U.S. Army reservists from Georgia who were killed in a drone attack in Jordan over a week ago. First Lady Jill Biden, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, and Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General C.Q. Brown will accompany the president. They met with the families of Sgt. William Jerome Rivers, Spc. Kennedy Ladon Sanders, and Spc. Breonna Alexsondria Moffett prior to the transfer.
National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby reported that President Biden spoke with the families earlier this week, saying, “He expressed to them how proud we all are of their service, how we mourn and feel sorrow over their loss, made sure that those families knew that, not only was that service and sacrifice, going to be honored and respected, but that they would continue to get the support that they need as they work through what no family wants to have to go through.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president, first lady, defense secretary, and joint chiefs chairman as they honor the fallen and console the families.
- For God’s comfort for the reservists’ loved ones as they grieve their loss.
- For wisdom for the president and his military advisors as they decide how to proceed in the Middle East.
