Issue 631 – Verse of the Week

January 25th – January 31st, 2024

VERSE OF THE WEEK

If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.     Proverbs 24:10

Don’t Just Sit There

The 18th-century British statesman Edmund Burke said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Several decades ago, Pastor Robert Schuller, in his television program “The Hour of Power,” was fond of saying, “Don’t just sit there… do something!” In these days, the words of both men are pertinent. It is difficult to avoid becoming complacent. The temptation is to ignore what is happening and to keep trudging along your path, doing what you’re doing. Like all choices, your action or lack thereof has consequences. Ask the Lord what He would have you do in response to the times in which we live… because the days are evil, and your salt and light are needed.
