Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk

Matthew Joseph Kacsmaryk was born in 1977 in Gainesville, Florida. He earned an undergraduate degree from Abilene Christian University and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law. He spent ten years in the private practice of law. He spent five years as deputy general counsel to First Liberty Institute.
He was nominated by President Donald Trump to be a judge on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. His nomination expired before it was acted on, and he was again named by President Trump to the federal judgeship. Although his nomination was reported out of committee, the Senate did not take it up, and the president once again nominated Kacsmaryk to that district court. He was ultimately confirmed by the Senate and received his judicial commission in June 2019.
He is married to Shelly, and they have five children.

Federal District Court Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk of the North Texas U.S. District Court ordered the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to turn over data from its COVID-19 vaccine surveillance program to a network of litigators who had sought the information under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
Around 8.5 million people participated in the CDC v-safe mobile app surveys between December 2020 and April 2021, after the public’s earliest reports showed a surprising high rate of moderate to severe adverse events following the vaccines.
Judge Kacsmaryk has now ordered those records released to the Informed Consent Action Network. “With billions of taxpayer dollars expended to develop, distribute, administer, and fund messaging campaigns, Plaintiff assumes a hefty and viable public interest in examining the raw clinical data,” the judge said.
The CDC was ordered to expedite the delivery of the information.
