Issue 627 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

General CQ Brown Jr., Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, held a conversation with his Chinese counterpart last week. The virtual video conference was the first communication between the military leaders of the two superpowers in months.

Pray for General Brown as he seeks to keep open lines of communication between the U.S. and China.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

A proposed law before the Ukrainian parliament would change the age of military conscription from 27 to 25 years, a move that has been called for by Ukraine’s top general who said more troops are required after heavy casualties have been incurred in nearly two years of war with Russia.

Pray for U.S. and allied officials as the war appears to be at a stalemate, and for Ukrainian members of parliament as they vote on the proposed change to the nation’s draft law.

Pray for AMERICA’S FOREIGN RELATIONS

Mexico’s President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said they are preparing to challenge a new Texas law that allows Texas enforcement to arrest suspected immigrants. He called the actions of Texas “inhumane” and cruel.

Pray for U.S. federal, state, and local leaders as the situation at the southern border impacts citizens and migrants, and affects relationships with neighbors in Central and South America.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

According to the CDC, the American public is largely ignoring the latest warning about a “tripledemic” of COVID-19, flu, and RSV. Officials indicate that vaccine rates are low across all socio-demographic subgroups, with fewer than 18 percent of adults reporting getting the updated vaccines.

Pray for CDC officials and Americans as there is an apparent loss of confidence in the agency and its warnings.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

Egypt has completed a new iron fence that is topped with barbed wire, behind which is an 8-10-meter-high concrete wall, and after it a series of earthen berms. Watchtowers are also being erected. All of this, according to officials, is to keep Gazans from entering Egypt.

Pray for Israeli and surrounding Arab nations’ leaders as they address civilians in the war zones of Gaza.

Pray for AMERICA’S ECONOMY

The cost-of-living increase that recipients of Social Security will receive in 2024 is still insufficient to meet actual increases in the costs of living due to inflation. Thought higher than in some prior years, recipients state they are worried about keeping up with their bills.

Pray for the many seniors across America who are attempting to survive on Social Security alone.

Pray for Goodness in America

Citizen groups in 43 states across America have been able to display nativity scenes depicting the birth of Jesus Christ at state capitols.

Pray for the thousands of individuals, from children to state officials, who have had exposure to the nativity scenes this Christmas season.

Pray for Needs Across the States

A new law in Illinois requires landlords to build charging stations for electric vehicles in residential buildings when tenants request it. The legislation has created issues for the building industry over different voltages for different chargers.

A bill in the legislature of the state of Washington would criminalize the use of “gasoline-powered and diesel-powered landscaping and other outdoor power equipment.” If enacted, devices such as leaf blowers and hedge trimmers would be outlawed beginning in January 2026.

Pray for state officials looking to protect the environment and the laws they are using to do so.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“Stop trying to fight the devil in your own strength, but renew your mind according to everything you already have in Christ! Jesus is your truth. He is your righteousness. He is your peace. He is your faith. He is your salvation. He is your sword. Jesus is your armor. He alone is your victory!   – Kyle Winkler, author and Bible teacher
