Secretary Blinken Co-Hosts Asia-Pacific Economic Meetings

Joins U.S. trade representative in San Francisco for the summit.

The Department of State announced that Secretary of State Antony Blinken is co-hosting the APEC Ministerial Meeting with U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Katherine Tai this week.

The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation is an annual forum attended by 21 countries to uphold free trade along the Pacific Rim. Each country hosts the forum in rotation, and this year the United States is hosting the gathering.

“In San Francisco, Secretary Blinken will advance our APEC host year policy priorities for an ‘interconnected, innovative, and inclusive’ Asia-Pacific region under our theme of ‘Creating a Resilient and Sustainable Future for All,’” the department stated.

President Joe Biden and President Xi Jinping are scheduled to meet on the sidelines of the summit on Wednesday.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for Secretary Blinken and Ambassador Tai as they co-host the summit.
  • For God’s purposes to be accomplished in the discussion between Presidents Biden and Xi.
