U.S. Hosts 2023 Indo-Pacific Economic Meeting

Leaders will review the developmental progress of the IPEF trade agreement in San Francisco.

The Department of Commerce announced that the United States will be hosting the third in-person meeting to discuss the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF). This set of international guidelines detailing how allied nations will conduct trade with each other in the Indo-Pacific is still in development. Ministers and economic leaders will be meeting in San Francisco on November 13 and 14 to monitor the ongoing process.

“I am encouraged by the tremendous progress the United States and our fellow IPEF partners have made since we first began negotiations in September 2022,” said U.S. Trade Ambassador Katherine Tai. “We are meeting the moment in the face of today’s pressing challenges, and I look forward to hosting trade ministers in San Francisco with Secretary Raimondo to deliver on the promise of lifting up our economies and the middle class here in the United States and the Indo-Pacific region.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Raimondo and Ambassador Tai as they engage foreign trade ministers and partners at the meetings.
  • For President Biden as he prepares to meet with President Xi Jinping of China during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit.
