Pray for our Military
The U.S. Office of Naval Intelligence has expressed concerns over the rapid expansion of the Chinese navy and that country’s fast production rate. China’s shipbuilding exceeds that of the U.S. by 200 times, giving a strategic advantage to China.
Pray for U.S. military officials as they strategize ways to increase the U.S. Navy’s readiness in the modernization and expansion of its fleet of less than 300 ships.
PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE
The Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, said the recent meeting in Russia between President Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will probably not make much of a difference. He voiced skepticism that any boost North Korea might be able to supply to Russia’s military “would be decisive.”
Pray for America’s military intelligence officials on the war in Ukraine to gather accurate and complete information.
Pray for AMERICA’S FOREIGN RELATIONS
Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un met in Russia last week to discuss military matters. The North Korean leader offered his nation’s “full and unconditional support” for what he called Russia’s “sacred fight” in Ukraine against imperialism and the West. President Putin has also accepted an invitation from Kim to visit North Korea.
Pray for discernment for U.S. and allied officials as the relationships, particularly militarily, develop among Russia, China, and North Korea.
Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
A new report from the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons says mask mandates are not only ineffective against respiratory viruses, such as COVID, but are actually harmful, in addition to infringing on the informed consent rights of patients. In a statement they published on Patients’ Freedoms, they said, “Patients have the right to be informed about the risks and benefits of any medical intervention, and have the right to refuse medical treatment. The use of masks or other face coverings, as a public health measure or otherwise, are a type of medical intervention to which the above-informed consent rights apply.”
Pray for authorities in federal, state, and local governments as mask mandates have again been initiated in some states, hospitals, and public schools.
Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL
Senators Ted Cruz of Texas and Marco Rubio of Florida are investigating allegations that PayPal has been processing funds for a group with ties to Palestinian terror, calling on PayPal to immediately sever ties. Senator Rubio said, “No individual or U.S. company should be funding Palestinian terrorist organizations that seek to harm innocent Israelis. I will call on the Department of the Treasury to scrutinize this arrangement.”
Pray members of the House and Senate as they seek to uphold American laws regarding businesses that fund terrorism.
Pray for AMERICA’S ECONOMY
New data from the Census Bureau shows the poverty rate in America rose 3.6 percentage points in 2022, the first increase since 2010. In addition, child poverty more than doubled, ending at 12.4 percent in 2022, and rates increased for people 65 and older.
Pray for Americans who are struggling to make it from one paycheck to the next.
Pray for Goodness in America
Many watched as 19-year-old Coco Gauff won her first tennis Grand Slam title at the U.S. Open and then knelt in prayer courtside. She said, “I realize, you know, God puts you through tribulations and trials and this makes this moment more sweeter than I could imagine. … I don’t pray for results. I just ask that I get the strength to give it my all and whatever happens, happens. I’m so blessed in this life. So I’m so thankful for this moment. “
Give thanks as more and more athletes have the courage to publicly give God the glory.
Pray for Needs Across the States
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment said it will no longer change birth-assigned gender on birth certificates, citing a new law that prevents the state from legally recognizing those transgendered identities.
Governor Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma has called for a special session of the legislature to meet in early October on a plan that would eliminate the state income tax and pass new laws focusing on tax fairness.
Pray for state officials at every level to have wisdom in providing the best programs for their citizens.
