Tech CEOs Respond After AI Forum with Senators

Elon Musk recommends “referee” for AI engagement.

An artificial intelligence forum was held on Wednesday for more than 60 senators. The meeting involved discussions of the risks and potential surrounding AI and effective ways to implement legislative safeguards.

“It’s important for us to have a referee,” X CEO Elon Musk stated, comparing AI regulation to sports. He said that an AI-specific regulator would “ensure that companies take actions that are safe and in the interest of the general public.”

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg also emphasized the need for safeguards while companies pursue innovations necessary for AI development. He said, “This is an emerging technology, there are important equities to balance here, and the government is ultimately responsible for that.” He added it was “better that the standard is set by American companies that can work with our government to shape these models on important issues.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For U.S. senators as they craft and deliberate regulations for artificial intelligence.
  • For wisdom for federal legislators regarding AI technology and advancements.
