Issue 605 – Federal Branches

Praying for Our Leaders in Government

Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration

The Federal Trade Commissioner and the Department of Justice, in an effort to address antitrust concerns, set out 13 guidelines to govern corporate mergers. Officials claim this will significantly change how large corporate acquisitions are reviewed.

Pray for officials in President Biden’s administration and the many departmental regulations they are setting forth.

Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress

Representative Jodey Arlington of Texas, chairman of the House Budget Committee, said they are working to release a budget plan before late September. He stated, “I will not let a fiscal year go by without having our budget… We have worked with every member, every faction, every caucus of our conference, to get to a good place.”

Pray that members of Congress will be able to have a fully developed and signed-off budget before the end of the fiscal year.

PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES

The House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party is investigating four venture capital firms linked to China’s military and to human rights abuses. The committee stated the probe is “because each has invested millions into PRC-based artificial intelligence and semiconductor companies,” alleging that China uses those companies to improve its military while committing human rights abuses.

Pray for House and Senate committee members as they consider and craft legislation regarding the findings of their investigations.

Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court said the FBI made improper use of its surveillance powers against a U.S. Senator, a state senator, and a state judge, all unnamed.

Pray for the judges in various courts as they issue rulings on the activities of federal agencies.
