Issue 604 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for our Military

An order issued by President Biden will allow the Pentagon to call up to 3,000 military reservists “necessary to augment” U.S. forces in Europe. He said the move “reaffirms the unwavering support and commitment to the defense of NATO’s eastern flank in wake of Russia’s illegal and unprovoked war on Ukraine.”

Pray for the military reservist troops being sent to Europe.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the war in Ukraine “will continue until the West abandons its plans to maintain dominance and its obsession with inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia through the hands of its puppet, Kyiv.”

Pray for the leaders of the U.S. and NATO nations as some in Moscow seek to widen the war.

Pray for AMERICA’S FOREIGN RELATIONS

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said there was no greater challenge to U.S. common security with Japan and South Korea than the ongoing threats from North Korea.

Pray for Secretaries Blinken and Austin as they respectively oversee U.S. diplomatic and military engagements and operations.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

Ozempic, a Type II diabetic drug that is being widely used off-label for weight loss, is being investigated after researchers found a link to suicidal thoughts in patients. A similar pharmaceutical, Saxenda, is also under scrutiny.

Pray for U.S. health officials as they address pharmaceuticals that are being used by non-essential patients for off-label purposes.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was taken to the hospital over the weekend after a bout of dizziness that the doctors determined was the result of dehydration. Thanking the medical team and the public for messages of support, the prime minister said, “Thank God. I feel very good.” He recommended that people drink water and act in a safe manner in the scorching summer heat. A day later all tests were normal and he was discharged.

Give thanks for the rapid recovery of Prime Minister Netanyahu and pray for his upcoming plans to visit the U.S.

Pray for AMERICA’S ECONOMY

A report from the Bureau of Labor showed the inflation rate slowed in June to 3 percent, its lowest pace in two years, but it is still above the 2 percent target of the Federal Reserve. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen says the U.S. is not out of the woods yet and a recession “is not completely off the table,” giving many Americans cause for concern.

Pray for Federal Reserve Chair Powell and Secretary Yellen as they continue to monitor and evaluate the rate of inflation.

Pray for Goodness in America

A firefighter and his wife in Florida have adopted a newborn baby girl left in the fire station’s Safe Haven drop box. “It is a gift from God, that’s what it is. There’s nothing else to explain it,” he said.

Give thanks for the life-saving Safe Haven drop boxes and pray that infants left there will rapidly find adoptive families.

Pray for Needs Across the States

A state senator in Kentucky is seeking answers from Governor Andy Beshear’s administration regarding the state’s foster care program. Reports in the media revealed children in the program have been forced to live and sleep in public buildings for weeks at a time.

Governor Mike Dunleavy of Alaska applauded a grant of $37.5 million from the U.S. Department of Defense for a project near Nome that is developing world-class natural graphite, a critical and strategic mineral used in space and energy.

Pray for America’s governors as they deal with both positive and negative challenges in their states.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“Hardly a month goes by where you don’t hear somebody that you thought was straight and going in the right way and doing the right things and teaching the right truth, and now they don’t believe this anymore, or they’ve gotten in trouble, and they’re no longer in the ministry anymore. The enemy is at work. … That’s the falling away. That’s what the Bible says is going to happen, and it’s happening.” – Dr. David Jeremiah, Shadow Mountain Community Church, El Cajon, California, July 17, 2023
