Issue 602 – Verse of the Week

July 6th – July 12th, 2023

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, or idolaters, or adulterers, or men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.     1 Corinthians 6:9-10

Standing for Truth

If you have a personal relationship with Christ Jesus, you are now a warrior in a spiritual battle that is being played out. Satan, knowing he has been defeated by Jesus at the cross, desires to send Christians off course and to keep them from being true witnesses for the Lord against evil. The enemy is crafty, deceitful, and deadly, and tempts you to join him in pride and arrogance. Ephesians chapter 6 gives you the armor of God to stand against the enemy and those he has deluded. It is vital to rely on the strength of the Holy Spirit, to be informed about what is happening, to be willing to speak the truth in love and kindness, and to spend time in prayer. James 5:16 says, “The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” Be encouraged in your prayers, always remembering that the war has already been won, but you are still called to stand strong in the battles.
