In the News…

Drug Enforcement Administrator Anne Milgram recently answered most of the questions directed to her by members of the House Appropriations Committee with “I’ll have to get back to you on that.“

Committee members asked the DEA administrator about Mexico’s cooperation in drug interdiction. She said two of the major cartels, the Sinaloa and Jalisco New Generation cartel organizations, were “the greatest drug threat that this country has ever faced.” She later added, “We all need to do more, and Mexico needs to do more.”

When asked about the awarding of no-bid contracts, Administrator Milgram said, “I think it’s an important issue, and the Inspector General is conducting an administrative review of some DEA contracts… I welcome that and I am not going to step in front of him out of respect for his work.”

Regarding the work the DEA was doing, she said, “I believe we are doing what we need to do, which is transform our vision, the way we work, and how we execute the order to stop Americans from dying, and I believe we’re doing that.”
