VERSE OF THE WEEK
He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, and they will bring offerings in righteousness to the Lord. – Malachi 3:3
Reflection
Neither gold nor silver comes out of the earth in a pure form. It must be refined. The refining process takes time and it takes a lot of heat. As the metal is melted, impurities rise to the surface and must be removed. As the metal cools, it must be heated to the melting point again, and once again the dross is removed. It has been said that the refiner knows when the metal is pure when he can look into it and see the reflection of his face. It is that way for the believer as sanctification occurs. It takes time, and it takes discomfort. Your heart must melt before the Lord, and you must allow Him to remove the impurities from your life. As you repeat the process, you become more and more like Him, and He begins to see His own reflection in your life. Persist and don’t give up. You are indeed golden in His eyes!
