Slovenia and U.S. Hold Annual Strategic Dialogue

Discussions included multiple goals, including Slovenia’s application to UN Security Council.

Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman and Slovenian State Secretary Samuel Žbogar led the third U.S.-Slovenia Strategic Dialogue in Washington, D.C., last week. Representatives from the Departments of State and Treasury participated in the discussions, covering support for Ukraine, climate goals, cybersecurity, and Slovenia’s application for the United Nations (UN) Security Council.

“The United States welcomes Slovenia’s candidacy for the UN Security Council for the 2024-2025 term and believes Slovenia to be a very well qualified candidate, which, if elected, would be a credible voice in contributing to the maintenance of international peace and security,” the Department of State release said.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Deputy Secretary Sherman to seek God’s wisdom as she represents the U.S. in diplomatic activities.
  • For Secretary of State Blinken to be discerning in his engagements with foreign officials.
