Building Standards for EV Charging Stations Published

Transportation Department issues electric version of guidelines used for American gas stations.

The Department of Transportation published the final version of the standards for American electric vehicle (EV) charging stations last week. The department publishes and enforces minimum required standards for a number of federally funded infrastructure projects, bringing consistency and homogeneity to places like gas stations, airports, and highway additions.

“This is a major step toward a world where every EV user will be able to find safe, reliable charging stations anywhere in the country,” said Secretary Pete Buttigieg. “We’re establishing common, universal standards for EV charging stations just like the ones for gas stations, so that recharging an EV away from home will be as predictable and accessible as filling up a gas tank.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Buttigieg as he oversees the issuing of electric vehicle charging station guidelines.
  • For U.S. transportation officials to seek God’s direction as they promote and fund the charging network.
