January 19th – Thursday

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. – 1 Corinthians 10:31

Today’s verse offers freedom! In a world where there are so many opinions about what is appropriate or not, and the foundations of society and civilization are shifting, it is vital to hold onto the truth of God’s Word. While the apostle Paul tells the Corinthian believers in this passage to give no offense and to do good to their neighbors, he also offers the liberating message from Psalm 24:1 that “the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.” He writes that everything should be done to God’s glory. As we live in the wonderful victory of Christ Jesus, let us be mindful of those around us who are hurting due to the messages and burdens of this world. As you pray today, lift up friends and neighbors who have not yet received freedom in Christ as well as those in positions of authority in the nation.

As the Lord leads, pray with us…

  • For the president and his Cabinet to have their hearts turned toward the Lord and to seek His will for this nation.
  • For Christ-followers holding public office to be led by the Spirit of God to stand for the truth while being considerate and compassionate to the lost.
