Blizzard Forecast for Central U.S.

Winter storm warnings are being issued through Christmas and airlines are rebooking flights.

Most of the United States will be experiencing colder than usual weather through Christmas, and many regions in the middle of the nation will experience dangerously frigid temperatures with below zero degree wind chill factors.

The National Weather Service stated, “A blast of frigid, Arctic air to affect most of the U.S. through Hanukkah and into the week of Christmas. Dangerous blizzard will impact the Midwest & Great Lakes.“

NWS officials continued, “Temperatures 40 degrees below average and dangerous life-threatening wind chills as low as 50 degrees below zero are possible in the northern Rockies and northern Plains. Sub-zero to single-digit temperatures are likely across the central Plains, Midwest, Great Lakes, Ohio Valley and Midsouth.“

Many airlines have already issued waivers or credits for fare differences for rebooking flights over the holiday as the winter storms set in. United Airlines has permanently removed flight change fees.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For NOAA officials as they assess the severe storm conditions.
  • For National Weather Service personnel as they issue winter warnings in their respective regions.
