CIA Director Visits Ukraine

He meets with President Zelenskyy after connecting with a Russian intelligence chief in Turkey.

Central Intelligence Agency Director William Burns met with his Russian intelligence counterpart, Sergey Naryshkin, in Ankara, Turkey, this week. A National Security Council spokesperson said the dialogue is part of the U.S.’ effort “to communicate with Russia on managing risk.”

The spokesperson added that the CIA director “is not discussing settlement of the war in Ukraine. He is conveying a message on the consequences of the use of nuclear weapons by Russia, and the risks of escalation to strategic stability. He will also raise the cases of unjustly detained U.S. citizens.“

Director Burns then met with President Zelenskyy in Kyiv, after which he went to Warsaw, Poland, to speak with President Andrzej Duda.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for Director Burns as he meets and communicates with the heads of state and intelligence.
  • For U.S. intelligence assets and agents stationed around the globe.
  • For the president and his intelligence advisors as they consider the information and recommendations that are provided.
