Issue 564 – Verse of the Week

October 13th – October 19th, 2022

Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.  Isaiah 26:4

Unless you are a geologist or an Aboriginal, you have probably never heard of Uluru. It has been called the world’s largest rock. Also known as Ayers Rock of Australia, it is a well-recognized red sandstone landmark, considered sacred by the people of the region. But it just stands there, offering nothing in particular to those who view it. Now consider your Rock, God Almighty. He is a place of refuge and safety. He is your protection, your foundation, the source of your salvation. He is living, and Scripture often calls Him beautiful. The winds and storms will not erode Him, for He is unchangeable. In Psalm 61, David says, “Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” Let all of the attributes of the Lord be your Rock today.
