Issue 561 – Verse of the Week

September 22nd – September 28th, 2022

Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself.“    Matthew 6:34

Don’t Worry

Psychologists say worry is a normal part of the human experience. However, God often instructs His followers not to succumb to worry. ”Do not be anxious about anything” (Philippians 4:6). “Cast all your anxieties on him” (1 Peter 5:7). “Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down” (Proverbs 12:25). Pastor Daniel Fusco of Crossroads Community Church in Vancouver, Washington, considers fretting to be a symptom of a deeper spiritual issue. He stated in a podcast episode, “The problem with worry is worry is functional atheism. When we worry, we act like God isn’t in control, like He’s not the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.” What’s your worry quotient like today? Make a conscious choice to trust the Lord and abandon worry.
