USDA Partners With Ukraine for Food Security

U.S. and Ukraine enter into Memorandum of Understanding.

During a meeting with U.N ambassadors and officials last week, Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Ukraine’s Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food are entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Through this MOU, these two organizations will work together for the next three years to address worldwide food disruptions created by Russia’s attack on Ukraine.

“Russia’s actions are posing major threats not only to the people of Ukraine but to countries in Africa and the Middle East that rely on the grains and other staples produced in Ukraine,” said Secretary Vilsack. “Russia is using food as a weapon and a tool of war to threaten the livelihoods of those around the world, and that is something the agriculture community cannot and will not stand for.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for Secretary Vilsack as he with foreign nations and entities on food security.
  • For USDA officials as nutrition security plans are developed.
  • For the president and his advisors to seek God’s direction as they implement plans that impact the supply chain.
