U.S. Responds to North Korea with Military Exercise

Air defense drills have intensified.

The U.S. military organized air defense artillery exercises in the Yellow Sea on Tuesday from one of its bases in South Korea. U.S. Indo-Pacific Command also announced a carrier-based exercise later that day.

North Korea has been increasing the facilitation of large missile tests in the area, especially between February 27 and March 5. It has also begun testing an intercontinental ballistic missile system, which President Biden’s administration has called a “serious escalation” in North Korean weaponization.

“[The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea]’s significant increase in its missile testing activity undermines peace, security and destabilizes the Northeast Asia region,” U.S. Forces Korea (USFK) said. “While this type of training is routinely conducted by U.S. Patriot batteries across [South Korea], its increased intensity of its certification underscores the seriousness USFK takes against the DPRK’s recent missile launch behavior.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For U.S. military leaders in the Indo-Pacific as they heighten missile defense drills.
  • For the safety of U.S. armed services personnel as they train and prepare in the Yellow Sea.
  • For wisdom for Defense Secretary Austin in responding to North Korea’s missile testing.
