Issue 532 – Verse of the Week

March 3rd – March 9th, 2022

VERSE OF THE WEEK

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.Ephesians 6:12

Calling for Assistance

Perhaps in your years of formal education, you were introduced to a short poem, Invictus, by William Ernest Henley, that concludes: “I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.” The American domestic terrorist Timothy McVeigh of the Oklahoma City bombing in 1996, wrote those words as his last entry into a journal before his execution. Like everyone, McVeigh was a sinner… but he was committed to the lie that he was his own best guide. In America today, the God of the Bible is being eradicated from the public square and pagan ideologies flourish. Every Christ-follower is faced with spiritual warfare. The Lord’s provision for you in this present darkness is the whole armor of God, provided so you can stand against the schemes of the wicked one. Christ has won the war; the end is certain. Yet there will be battles to fight. Immerse yourself in God’s Word; pray and give Him absolute control of your life. He won’t let you down!
