Iraq Base Housing U.S Troops Attacked

No injuries reported, but attacks expected to rise.

On Wednesday, a rocket struck a base that houses U.S. troops located near Baghdad’s international airport. The Iraqi government began a search operation to identify the attackers, and found a Katyusha rocket launcher in a residential district in western Baghdad. No injuries were reported, but the attack came after attempted suicide drone attacks that were stopped on Monday and Tuesday.

Though the attacking forces still remain unidentified, U.S. officials anticipate attacks such as these to be on the rise from Pro-Iran Shiite factions due to the recent anniversary of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani’s assassination by the Pentagon.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for the president as commander in chief of the U.S. military.
  • For the Pentagon officials who assess the continued threat of attack on troops in the Middle East.
  • For the safety of the 2,500 American troops remaining in Iraq.
