White House Suggests Ways to Welcome Afghan Allies

Operation Allies Welcome points to those still in U.S. military “safe havens.”

The White House issued a list of opportunities for Americans to help in the resettlement of Afghan refugees. Operation Allies Welcome White House Coordinator Jack Markell & CEO of the nonprofit Welcome.US Nazanin Ash together issued the suggestions for citizens who would like to participate and assist in the effort.

The list of ways people can help include volunteering or donating to a resettlement organization, donating airline miles to help refugees travel to their new home location, donating temporary housing, offering a job, or forming a sponsor circle to host an Afghan family.

They stated that it has been “inspiring to see the outpouring of support that has come from every corner of our country.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Coordinator Markell as he oversees resettlement efforts.
  • For CEO Ash as he maintains the federal website to assist in resettling Afghan families.
  • For American citizens who are giving of their time and resources to help the refugees.
