Issue 518 – Verse of the Week

November 25th – December 1st, 2021

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:19

Every Means Every

Sometimes words can have more than one meaning. However, that is not the case with the word “every” in today’s verse. It simply means all, without exception, every. There is another important word in today’s verse: “will.”  God will do it; again, no exceptions. He does not pick and choose which of your needs to supply; His Word says He will supply all of them. When you consider the context of the verse, remember that Paul was in prison. It was up to the prisoners’ friends and family to provide their food and necessities. Again and again, Paul saw God’s provision for him. His NEEDS were met. Perhaps in your prayers, you have sought for certain things that you have not received from the Lord, and you were disappointed. Let God be the one to determine what it is you truly need. He will provide it out of His riches. Be thankful for everything; for He is meeting every one of your true needs without exception.
