Bill to Award Slain Soldiers Congressional Medals

Senator Steve Daines proposes to honor Afghanistan bombing victims.

On Friday, Senator Steve Daines of Montana announced that he will introduce a bill proposing that the 13 American soldiers killed on August 26 be given Congressional Gold Medals for their service to the country. Once the Senate returns from its current recess, the bill will be officially introduced. More than 150 House members proposed for their own version of this legislation on Tuesday, advocating for the posthumous honor of these fallen soldiers.

“The 13 brave service members we lost in Afghanistan following the withdrawal will forever be remembered as heroes. Their service and ultimate sacrifice to protect American lives, our freedoms and our homeland deserves the highest honor,” Senator Daines stated.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the Senate as they take a much needed break.
  • That Senator Daines would stand by this bill when the Senate is back in session.
  • That President Biden would also stand by these efforts to honor our fallen soldiers.
