50,000 More Afghan Evacuees Expected

Secretary Mayorkas speaks of continued acceptance of refugees.

40,000 Afghan allies are currently in the process of being accepted and relocated as Special Immigrants in the United States. Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced this past week that the Department of Homeland Security would admit an additional 50,000 Afghan allies into the United States.

“We have a moral imperative to protect them, to support those who have supported this nation,” said Secretary Mayorkas. “Our mission is not accomplished until we have safely evacuated all U.S. citizens who wish to leave Afghanistan or lawful permanent residents, all individuals who have assisted the United States in Afghanistan. This effort will not end until we achieve that goal.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the safety of those fleeing Afghanistan.
  • For Secretary Mayorkas as he leads his department through these emergency measures.
  • For President Biden and his administration in their efforts to tend to this crisis.
